Using any photo of your choice, Open in Photoshop

In your Layer Palette, double click your BACKGROUND LAYER, click ok, it should turn from Background layer to Layer O, this means the layer is now editable.

Using the Text tool Screen Shot 2015-02-09 at 9.48.48 AM click on your photo. Type a headline.

Remember BOLD fonts work best for this effect. If you text is still not big enough you can use COMMAND T and drag the anchor points to fill your photo, when finished click ENTER to accept.

Make sure your headline size is large and covers most of the photo

After formatting your text. Drag the Type layer to the bottom of the stack.

While Layer 0 is selected, go to the fly out menu and choose Create Clipping Mask

Your layer palette should have two layer. The top layer will be indented with a crooked arrow pointing down and the bottom layer will be underlined showing which layer it is being clipped to.

Click on the Type Layer again, click on the fx at the bottom of the layer palette.

Choose Drop Shadow, Set the slider bars to get the effect you like.

Use the crop tool to resize the headline if needed, you can also use the move tool and “Command T” to resize and better arrange your word.

Save As in a Tiff format in your personal folder.

Making sure to check the box for Save Transparency

Then save for web, post to your blog with a paragraph description.
