Image In A Shape

Find or take a photo of your choice

Open the photo in Adobe Photoshop

Once the photo is open

Go To your Layer Palette – Double Click on the Background Layer to Edit the layer, it will now be labeled Layer 0

Add a New Layer by going to the Fly Out Menu on the layers Palette and choosing New Layer

Click Ok

Select the Custom Shape Tool from the Tool Bar Screen Shot 2015-02-12 at 9.47.10 AM

on the task bar at the top, there is a Shape: click the drop down menu

Choose ALL

After Reviewing all your Custom Shape options, choose one for your photo by clicking on it.

Go Back to your Photo

Click and Drag to make the shape on Layer 1

If it is not in the right place you can move the shape with your move tool or “Command T” to resize.

After you Create the shape in the right location on Layer 1, move Layer 1 to the bottom of the stack in the Layer Palette.

Select Layer 0

Then go to the Flyout Menu and Choose Create Clipping Mask

Click back on Your Shape 1 Layer, go to the FX at the bottom of the layer palette and add a drop shadow or a outer glow.

When finished click okay.

If need be crop the photo with the crop tool.

Go to File Save AS, using a .TIF format

Then Save for the web as a .JPG , post on your blog with a paragraph description.
