Go to Google Maps
Type in the address of your house or a relatives house, it must be someone you know.
Use a screenshot to capture the image – Command – Shift – 4 and drag a box to take a photo, it should be saved on your desktop
Open that screenshot photo in Adobe Photoshop
In the Layers Palette Duplicate the background layer 2 times.
Go to Edit and Fill with a Custom pattern
Click on the custom Pattern dropdown arrow
Choose one canvas pattern and then click OK
It should look something like this:
Turn on the visibility of the top photo layer
Label your layers so they don’t get confusing
Select the top Painting Layer
Make sure your setting are the same as below on your tool bar
Making sure you have checked the box for Sample ALL Layers
Click and drag around on your photo to mix the colors and create a painterly effect.
This may take a while, try different paint brushes and pay attention to detail. Try to work in different areas separately. Work on the sky then the grass, then the road, etc.
When finished painting the entire photo move the pattern layer to the top of the layer palette.
Set the blending mode to Multiply and change the opacity to a low percentage.
When finished save a post the before and after to your blog with a paragraph description.
