Fundamentals of Digital Media:
The Fundamentals of digital media will encompass an intro or a small sample of each digital art and design class. The techniques will include using the Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Students will gain an overview of the digital design experience as well as software training and design skills, photography, photo editing, digital painting and animation.
Digital Art and Design I: Design Foundations
Introduces students to the computer as an instrument to create page layout, art and design. Industry standard software is taught, focusing on vector art and Bezier curves. Students will learn the functions of the computer and troubleshoot in technology. Current software featured is: Adobe Illustrator CS4. Concepts learned are a great foundation for printers, production artists, fabric designers, illustrators, animators and graphic designers.
Digital Art and Design II: Digital Imaging
This class is for artists and designers who are interested in working with photo-based images.
Students create, manipulate and incorporate scanned, computer-generated and digital camera images using Adobe Photoshop CS6.0.
Pixels and raster concepts are the foundation for this course and gives students a good start toward a career in photography, special effects and/or animation, or any printed form of design, web design, advertising, photo restoration, professional photography, etc.
Digital Art and Design III: Animation and Electronic Music
This course focuses on the animation concepts, storyboarding, character and story development, drawing, digital photography, scanning and editing skills. The curriculum also includes clay animation, basic 2D animation, electronic music and special effects. Current software featured is: Adobe Flash CS 6.0, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop CS 6.0, Frame by Frame, I can animate, garage band and imovie.
Digital Art and Design IV: Visual Effects
Digital Art and Design 4 will encompass advanced editing techniques using the entire Adobe Suite 6.0, including Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Flash, Fireworks, and InDesign. Gain “real world” design experience as well as software training and design skills, photography, web design, brand identity and marketing a company or product.
